Meet Dr. Kim
Dr. Roma Franzia proudly welcomes Dr. Teresa S. Kim, MD to her practice who has worked for over 22 years in the pediatric field.
Dr. Kim was born in New York but grew up in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. She was interested in medicine from childhood after having experienced a severe allergic reaction as well as having a family background in medicine. Dr. Kim began her medical journey as an undergraduate and received her medical degrees from the University of Chicago. Pediatric residency took her to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Upon completion of her medical residency, Dr. Kim moved back to Chicago to work in a private practice in the Edgebrook/Lincolnwood area and stayed for 22+ years. She enjoyed the privilege of treating second generation patients.
Dr. Kim truly enjoys “getting to know parents and their families. I hope to do the same here at Dr. Franzia’s practice. I believe Pediatrics is the best field in medicine—one gets a chance to forge a long-lasting relationship from birth to young adulthood, and hopefully have a positive influence on their lives.” She feels that “both physician and parent learn from each other.” Dr. Kim is the first to say, “Pediatricians have the most fun in their work.”
Dr. Kim is married with two teenage daughters and lives in Wilmette. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, movies, and sudoku.
Dr. Kim is certified by The American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
